La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Killeen Review

1112 S Fort Hood St, Killeen, TX 76541 United States of America

2 Star Hotel ⭐⭐

Check-in was super easy and fast. I had no issues. I stayed at this hotel from Wed Apr 15, 2020 - Sat Apr 18, 2020. I was there because my husband is there for work and I wanted to see him. I was traveling with my 3 kids and 2 dogs. I paid for this room out of my own pocket. I spent a total of $255.84 ( $74.00 /night for 3 nights, and $33.84 in taxes and fees) Also on the website where I booked it they said the deposit would be $75 for the whole stay. I asked the staff did they take the $75 dollar deposit and she said yes, but I didn't see it in my account until Friday morning. When it did show on my account they charged me a $225 deposit (which is $75 per night), not the $75 per stay. When I asked the front staff about it they said they don't know why it was so much, but I would get it back when I checked out. I did receive it back within 3 days. But they show have said that on the website or the staff should have told me when I ask about the deposit. I had the money, I wasn't worried about that. It's just the point. What if, I was someone else who didn't have it as good as I do. You should have stated the deposit was per night not per stay.

The Hotel:

The hotel was nice, and everything I saw was clean. It was nicer then I expected when I first walked into the lobby. It was really noting special but it clean.

They have a pool, but it was close when I was there due to the virus. I didn't want to use it anyways because it was super cold outside, They offer free breakfast and wifi. Because of the virus they there not doing self serve breakfast so they were passing out brown paper bags of water bottles, danishes, and granola bars.

The Room:

"Deluxe Family Suite". witch is a one-bedroom hotel room with a king bed and a living room with a sleeper couch. I spent 99.9% of my time in the room because of everything going on outside the world. The room was nice. It had a desk that you could work at. That really helped because I have my kids in online school and that was their school work area. The sleeper couch was ok, every time I closed it to put the couch together I felt like I could break it. So I had to be super careful. The bed in the bedroom was HUG, at least to me. You could easily sleep 3 or 4 people on the bed depending on their size, It was super comfortable and nice. They had a tv in each room witch was nice because I could watch whatever I want on the tv in my room and the kids can fight over whatever they want to watch in the other room. They do have cable so you have some different options you can choose from. Also, the TVs allow you to hook up your gaming system. So that was a major plus for the kids and me. The room had a microwave and a mini-fridge, with a lot of cabinet space you could store stuff in like food. Both rooms have a lot of space. the room felt overall really big. A negative thing I can say about the room was it was really dark. Even with the windows open, it didn't have a lot of light. The bathroom was super small compared to the room I felt like it was just crammed into the room. They did have a full shower/bathtub but it would only fit maybe one person.

The Staff:

The staff was amazing. They did whatever they could to make sure I had everything I needed and then some. They gave my dogs treats and was going up and beyond for the kids. When I have a problem with the Tv in the living room they sent the repair guy and he was super nice and fixed the problem fast.

The Parking:

The parking is free and they have plenty of it. There is no covered parking. But you don't have to worry about where to parking or getting a parking pass.

The Pet Policy:

This hotel allows pets and doesn't charge a pet fee. This is the main reason I choose this hotel. There were no pet limits on how much to weigh.

Handicap Accessible:

In front of the building is handicap accessible and I'm pretty sure you could stay at the bottom level rooms. But I don't think they have elevators to go to the second level. So I'm not sure if you would be able to stay in the suites if you had a wheelchair.

My Overall Experience:

It was a good hotel overall. It was perfect for my family and its needs. They need to be clear about the deposit. But overall I had a good time there. Im not really sure if this would be my first choice to stay at again because of the confusion, but I wouldn't be against it. The kids had a blast in the room.

I would give this hotel a 4.3 out of 5 stars.
